3-Hour Long Glucose Test Results - 30 Weeks Pregnant

So, I went for the 3-hour long glucose test last Friday and received my results yesterday...I have Gestational Diabetes which means that I need to change my diet and prick my finger to take the blood sugar reading. It also means that I will have to go for a couple ultrasounds between now and my due date to make sure Ella isn't getting too big. So, I am waiting to hear from the dietitian to see what I can/cannot eat. In the meantime, my dad is going to stick to a diet similar to mine as well until the end of my term (or so he's going to try).

Other than that I lost 2 pounds since my last visit, which the doctor said was good because I have Gestational Diabetes (can't put on tooo too much weight). My uterus measured the standard 30-31cm and my blood pressure is still good as usual. We heard Ella's heart beat (the actual beat not just the woosh woosh sound) this time too which was awesome! And my doctor showed us how she was laying (transverse). Her head was on my upper right side, so that was cool to know where she was.

Other than that, I have to go for the ultrasound and the prick tester thing (don't know what it's called) on the 11th and then my follow up appointment is on the 12th. I will start my weekly visits in the beginning of September (around 35 weeks).

Next week is vacation in NC, and I'm really looking forward to a break from work (even though my maternity leave starts in 7 weeks!

Love Vickie
